Best Practice Guidelines for Social Media
Following the recent decision by the Advertising Standards Bureau that user-generated content on business' Facebook pages are a form of advertising subject to regulation the Communications Council has released a social media code of conduct.
The "Communications Council Best Practice Guide Social Media Code of Conduct" is a simple, 6-page document which "aims to provide specific guidance on best practice behaviour when working and operating within social media", containing sections relevant to employees for personal use and brands for commercial use.
It offers some great guidelines for those new to social media and a good reference for best practice for those more experienced. View the full guide here.
